Far Horizon takes you on a breathtaking journey through the most amazing Himalayan territory. Our tour starts with a visit to the capital city of Delhi where you visit famous monuments and then ride through the old city in a cycle-rickshaw for a more intimate experience of the bazaars and the people.

Visit the beautiful Golden Temple in Amristsar and also temples in Manali. We then continue our journey through the breathtaking landscape of the Rohtang La Pass and the Lachung Pass to reach the beautiful lake of Tso Khar and then travel on to Leh. On the way, you enjoy the breathtaking scenery and picturesque monasteries. In Leh, soak in the wonders of the colorful monastic festivals performed by the lamas themselves and explore the surrounding monasteries and forts.

Day 1: Departure

Day 2: Arrive Delhi
Our representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel

Day 3: Delhi / Amritsar (Train # 2013 ETD: 1635 ETA: 2230)
Begin the day with sightseeing at Old Delhi; Drive past the Red Fort on the way to the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque; Enjoy a colorful tour through the bazaars of Chandni Chowk (silver street) in cycle-rickshaws – once the imperial avenue which is today a bustling bazaar; See historical monuments of the capital as you drive past India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and the Parliament House. In the evening, leave for the railway station to board the Shatabdi Express to Amritsar. Our representative will receive you and escort you to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 4: Amritsar
After breakfast, visit the Golden temple – the holiest shrine of the Sikhs – an imposing marble structure with a gold plated dome. Walk through the bazaars of Amritsar. Leave for the Wagha Border, one of the most controversial borders in the world. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 5: Amritsar / Dharamsala (Approx. 6 hour drive)
Leave for Dharamsala after breakfast and check-in to your hotel. The evening is at leisure to visit the local markets. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 6: Dharamsala
The day is devoted to exploring the vast and intriguing Tibetan civilization. Discover the city nicknamed 'small Lhasa', and proceed on to Norbulinka (approx. 4 kms from Dharamsala)  established to preserve and teach the ancient Tibetan arts. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 7: Dharamsala / Manali (Approx. 8-9 hour drive)
After breakfast, begin the days journey to Manali. On the way, stop to see the temples at Mandi, on the banks of the  river Beas. If time permits, enjoy a pleasant walking tour of Manali. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 8: Manali / Rohtang La / Keylong / Jispa (Approx. 6-7 hour drive)
Leave Manali after an early breakfast. You will climb and cross the first high pass of your journey, the Rohtang La pass (12960 ft.). The bustling town of Keylong greets you as you pass through it to reach Jispa where you may spend the rest of the day relaxing after the long journey. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 9: Jispa / Sarchu (Approx. 8 hour drive)
After breakfast, proceed to your next destination – Sarchu. The view is absolutely breathtaking as you wind your way through to Leh. Baralacha La, the most picturesque of the high passes that you will crest en-route, is certainly the glory of the place. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 10: Sarchu / Tso-Moriri (Approx. 9-10 hour drive)
After breakfast, leave for the Tso-Moriri lake (4725 m) in a 4x4 vehicle. You will travel through the Lachung Pass (5060m), and to the Tso Kar lake. This beautiful white lake is famed for the high quality salt that rings its edges. Overnight at the FH Camp (B, L, D)

Day 11: Tso-Moriri
After breakfast, explore the spectacular area surrounding Tso-Moriri. You will visit the Karzok Gompa (monastery) and have the option of taking an exciting afternoon hike. Overnight at the FH Camp (B, L, D)

Day 12: Tso-Moriri / Leh (Approx. 7-8 hour drive)
After breakfast, leave for Leh (3500 m), the capital of Ladakh. Reach Leh by late afternoon and spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to the altitude. This region promises to dazzle you with some of the most mesmerizing sights possible. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 13: Exploring Leh
After breakfast, visit the Hemis Gompa - the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Visit Shey, the king's old palace and from there proceed to the Thikse Gompa – an impressive imitation of Lhasa's Potala Palace. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 14 & 15: Leh
The monastic festivals of Ladakh, governed by the Tibetan calendar (luni-solar), host fascinating dance-dramas in the gompa courtyards. The performers – the lama monks themselves – wear colorful garments and frightful and, at times, comic masks. They perform mimes representing various aspects of the religion. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 16: Leh / Alchi (Approx. 4 hour drive)
After breakfast proceed to Basgo – a complex of buildings that include a ruined fortress (dated earlier than the 15th century), two large temples and a small shrine. Explore the Likir Monastary also called the 'Klu-Kkhjil' or water spirits. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 17: Alchi
Survey the gorgeous Rizong gompa which encompasses a number of colorful shrines spread across the valley in an amphitheater formation along with the dramatically situated Lamayuru gompa. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 18: Alchi / Phyang / Spituk / Leh (Approx. 5 hour drive)
Return to Leh via the splendid monastery of Phyang and see its magnificent frescos. Your visit includes the Spituk monastery  known for its collection of Buddhist artifacts and the Spituk festival. Overnight at the hotel (B, L, D)

Day 19: Leh / Delhi (Flight IT 3342 ETD: 0810 ETA: 0955)
After breakfast, leave for the airport to board your flight to Delhi. In Delhi, you may freshen up at the hotel and later proceed for a half-day tour of the city. A visit to the capital's most striking monument, the 70 meter high Qutab Minar, towering over the wide plains of Delhi, will mark the end of your incredible journey. Overnight at the hotel (B)

Day 20: Depart Delhi
You will be escorted to the international airport to board your outgoing flight.
