Keeping in mind the above philosophy, we at Far Horizon Tours have created "Dera lakeview Retreat".
An off the beaten track, away from the main highway, leads you to this retreat which is in the rural countryside of Rajasthan.
Populated by colorful Meena tribals, this is an idea place to explore how majority of India lives. We will experience the cultures of these simple tribes, how the social system works in this deeply caste conscious community. A chance to visit a local school will be an added charm.
Our retreat is located near a monsoon lake. The cabins (also called "Deras") of the retreat, have air-conditioning, attached toilets having showers with running hot and cold water. The restaurant serves you Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisines. The gardens, sit-outs, bonfire - add to the ambience.
The mode of transport is camels (camel carts - if you so desire). We use the local community for our various work in the retreat including supplying camels.
In the evenings the local villagers perform around a campfire and many of our camel drivers will also join us.
The location of the retreat is between Agra and Jaipur, off the main highway. It can be easily combined in an itinerary while visiting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
