Rajasthan Festival Camps

The famous animal fairs of Rajasthan originally developed due to religious activities and pilgrimages on important religious days. Be it the birthday of a Saint, the full moon or the end of a season, there was occasion for celebration and the trading instinct took buyers and sellers to cash in on the pilgrims. Hundreds of thousands of camels, cows, horses, donkeys etc come here along with the nomads. The negotiations are carried over burning campfires, cups of chai and chapattis while worshiping is done at the nearby temple or shrine.
